.: 10/22/08 -- Kaynor Tech being torn down
There has been some incredible changes happening at our old alma mater. First is the fact that construction has been underway for over a year now in building the new school right in front of the old one... pretty much where the buses and teachers' parking was located. Second, is the tearing down of the old Kaynor Tech that we remember. Most of the building has been gutted and what we all knew as the "new wing" is currently being torn down. The main academic building is set to be the next to come down. The shop area was gutted and is being rebuilt. The only section of the school that may be left standing will be part of the old gym and locker rooms (but not for gym use). ...and guess who is playing a huge role in the project!?? .: 10/11/07 -- Reunion is next week!!!
Can you believe it?! We have received a nice number of responses of those who are attending, as well as responses from those who cannot make it. We will miss them there but hope they can make it next time. As far as a dress code for the reunion, the committee requests "...business casual at a minimum (no jeans), we're sure some will come in a jacket and tie, but not required..." Don't forget about the Kaynor Class of 1986 Forum that is set up so you can read/contact/share info with your fellow classmates even when the reunion is over.
.: 09/20/07 -- An Email from your president (and the reunion committee)
(this email was sent on 09/19/2007 to those whom we have email addresses for... if you didn't get it, odds are we do not have your contact info - hint hint) "Hello classmates, Just wanted to remind everyone that we have email addresses for that RSVP's were due yesterday. We'd appreciate everyone reply, even if you will not be attending as it lets us know you received the invitation, and confirms we have your correct address on file. It's a self addressed and pre-stamped envelope, so it shouldn't be a big deal for you to make it happen either way !!! If you didn't receive an invitation, we can thank the USPS for that, because I was there the night your invitation was hand stuffed and dropped in the big blue mailbox. Anyway, an invitation image is attached if you didn't and the details can be found at www.kaynorclassof1986.com . In addition, the website has the list of classmates that still have not been found, so please help us out in this area anyway you can. Please note: Walk-ins will not be allowed the evening of, since Aqua Turf requires a head-count prior to the event. We look forward to an enjoyable evening for those who decide to join us. The Reunion 2007 invitations have been stuffed, addressed, licked, stamped and sent out to those listed on the FOUND list. Are you Found?!... If not, contact us so we can send one out. We have already started receiving responses of those who have RSVP'd.... Don't miss out!!!
.: LAST CALL!!!
The Reunion 2007 invitations have been ordered and they will be mailed out the third week of August 2007. Check the Roll Call page and see if you or a fellow classmate you know are listed as 'Found'. If you/they aren't listed as 'Found', then we don't know where to send the invitation! Use the Contact page and drop us a line with contact information so you can be assured to receive an invitation. Even if you can't/don't go to this reunion, having your information now will make it easier the next time... Thanks!
.: Message Board Now Up
For those of you who want to keep in the know as to what's going on with the reunion plans, we have put up a message board for you to check out. You don't need to sign up in order to read any of the topics already there, but if you want to add you own personal message, you can sign up and do so. The message board was put up to allow the alumni to be able to interact with each other as well. So feel free to use it to keep in touch and let us know how you have been doing.
.: The Hunt Continues...!
The reunion committee has been working hard on finding our fellow classmates... If you check the Roll Call page, you can see how many of your fellow classmates they have found! We could still use your help in finding those we haven't been located yet - just use the Contact page and drop us a line with any information that you have to help us out. You may also notice that the start time of the reunion has been updated to 7pm. We could've had it earlier in the evening, but then you would be rushing out of work to try and make it on time... and we can't have that now can we?!
.: A 21st year reunion?!
The 21st year reunion plans are underway (c'mon now, did you think our class was going to actually be normal and have a 20th year reunion?). There is a committee of about six or so of your fellow classmates that have gotten the ball rolling earlier this year. There is a lot to get done especially in the area of contacting all of our past classmates. Our last reunion was in 1992! At that time, we weren't able to locate everyone - so imagine how much harder it is trying to locate people this time around! Please, contact us if you have any information about fellow classmates. This website was just put up in April 2007 so we can get the word out about this year's reunion. We will be adding to it and updating it as more news and updates happen. The current reunion committee has been meeting once a month, therefore, major updates will only be occurring that often. Other site enhancements will be trickling in periodically. So keep checking back for some cool stuff and updates on the Kaynor Tech Class Of 1986 Reunion 2007!!! |
